2009 Bundestag and European Elections: Judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court on electronic voting machines 

Wiesbaden – As reported by the Federal Returning Officer, today’s decision of the Federal Constitutional Court on the use of electronic voting machines settles the matter especially for those municipalities which have employed such machines to facilitate the counting of votes. The municipalities now have enough time to recruit a sufficient number of volunteers to assist in the European Election which will be held on 7 June 2009 and the Bundestag Election on 27 September 2009.
