Bundestag Election: Persons eligible to vote will receive voter’s notification by 6 September 2009
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Returning Officer, all persons who have been entered in a voters’ register will receive the notification cards for persons eligible to vote from their competent municipal authorities by 6 September 2009 at the latest. The voters’ register of a municipality for the 2009 Bundestag Election includes all persons entitled to vote whose main place of residence was registered at the registration office of the municipality on 23 August 2009, that is on the 35th day before the elections. The notification cards for persons eligible to vote will also indicate the polling station where voters may cast their votes on 27 September 2009.
Between 7 and 11 September 2009, the municipal authorities will make their voters’ registers available for inspection by eligible voters during their normal opening hours. Persons who will not receive a voter’s notification by 6 September 2009 should immediately contact the election office of their main place of residence so that their eligibility can be verified.
