30 parties and other political organisations have been admitted to the 2009 European Election with joint lists for all Länder
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Returning Officer, the Federal Electoral Committee has admitted 30 parties and other political organisations with joint lists for all Länder to the European Election to be held on 7 June 2009 in public session on 10 April 2009. These are the following parties and other political organisations (those admitted to the last European Election in 2004 are ordered by the number of votes obtained in that election in the whole of Germany, the others are listed subsequently in alphabetical order):

In the individual Länder, the Land Electoral Committees have also decided today on the lists of parties and other political organisations which participate in the European Election at Land level only. As a result, the Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands – CDU – has been admitted in all Länder, except Bayern, with one list for each Land, the lists being linked with each other. The Land Electoral Committee of Bayern has admitted one list for the Christlich-Soziale Union in Bayern – CSU – for the Land of Bayern.
Therefore, the ballot papers for the European Election will contain 31 nominations in all Länder.
