
Amended official preliminary result of the 2009 European election
WIESBADEN/BERLIN – On 8 June 2009, at 4.15 a.m., the Federal Returning Officer has announced the amended official preliminary result of the seventh direct election of the 99 members of the European Parliament from the Federal Republic of Germany on 7 June 2009.
The amendment does neither affect the distribution of seats nor the elected candidates. The share of votes of the CDU is amended to 30,7 percent instead of 30,6 percent. The reason for the amendment was an incorrect notification.
With a voter turnout of 43.3% (2004: 43.0%), the parties obtained the following shares in the total number of votes cast

The final official result of the 2009 European election will be determined and announced by the Federal Electoral Committee at a public meeting at the German Bundestag in Berlin, Marie-Elisabeth-Haus (entrance Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Street 1), room 3.101 (Anhörungssaal) on 30 June 2009 at 11 a.m.
