Detailed results of the 2009 European Election in Germany
WIESBADEN – The Federal Returning Officer reports that the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) issued a detailed description and explanation of the final results of the European Election in Germany in an article headlined “7th Direct Election to the European Parliament in the Federal Republic of Germany on 7 June 2009”. The article includes details on voter turnout in the European Election, the number of votes cast in a breakdown by Länder and also precise data on the distribution of seats. In addition, it offers information on the nomination of candidates with detailed figures regarding the lists approved and the candidates. Furthermore, the article includes information on Germans living abroad who submitted an application for registration in a register of voters for the European Election in Germany or in another Member State of the European Union.
The article, which was published in the most recent number 7/2009 of the German language journal “Wirtschaft und Statistik“ (Economy and Statistics), is available as a pdf file for free downloading on the website of the Federal Returning Officer.
