Constituency or district electoral committee

At Bundestag elections there are constituency electoral committees. A joint constituency electoral committee may be formed for serval neighbouring constituencies; the land returning officer shall issue the order.

The members of the constituency electoral committee shall be appointed by the constituency returning officer. The committee is composed of the constituency returning officer as chairperson and six committee members. They shall meet in public session.

Bundestag election: Sections 8 to 10, 25, 26, 40, 41 of the Federal Elections Act (BWG), Sections 4, 5, 35, 36, 76 of the Federal Electoral Regulations (BWO)

At European Elections there are district or town electoral committees.
 
The members of a district or town electoral committee shall be appointed by the respective returning officer. The committee is composed of the district or town returning officer as chairperson and six committee members. They shall meet in public session.
