Other political associations
Other political associations must differ from parties and electors' initiatives and shall meet
the following four prerequisites. They must
- have organized memberships,
- participate in the forming of the political will,
- aim to work in popular assemblies,
- have their seat, management, activity and members in the territories of the member states of
the European Union.
They do not, however, have to meet the other prerequisites laid down in the Law on Political
Parties. Even though they must have organized memberships, this organization does not need to have
the persistence of a party aiming to be active on a long-term basis. The goal to participate in
popular assemblies does not mean that the political association must nominate candidates for
election to all popular assemblies within its area of activity. An activity within the area of the
European Union does not mean that the political association must be active throughout the area of
the EU. It is sufficient for it to be active in one of the member states of the European
Union.
