Constituency candidate

A constituency candidate runs for a Bundestag constituency seat in a specific constituency.

A person may only be named as a party candidate in a constituency nomination if he or she is not a member of another party and has been selected for this purpose in an assembly of party members convened for the selection of a constituency candidate or in a special or general assembly of party delegates.

Candidates without party affiliation may also run for a constituency seat as individual candidates in a constituency if 200 persons entitled to vote in that very constituency support that candidature with their signatures.
