Voter turnout by 2 p.m. and provisional election result
WIESBADEN – When the 18th German Bundestag is elected on Sunday, 22 September 2013, the Federal Returning Officer will announce the “intermediate result for the voter turnout by 2 p.m.” in the afternoon and the official provisional election result during election night.
The “intermediate result for the voter turnout by 2 p.m.” will be determined on the basis of the voter turnout in selected polling stations. The result should be available around 3:30 p.m. and will be released by the Federal Returning Officer.
Where research institutes publish extrapolated results after 6 p.m. on election day but before the official provisional election result has been announced, these are results of voter interviews conducted by the institutes after the poll and results of the public counting of votes cast in individual polling stations.
