Voter turnout at Bundestag election until 2 p.m.

WIESBADEN/BERLIN – At today’s Bundestag election, 41.4 percent of all registered voters have cast their vote until 2 p.m. The votes cast by postal voters have not been included yet.

The Federal Returning Officer has ascertained this intermediate voter turnout in co-operation with the Land returning officers on the basis of voter turnout in selected polling stations for the whole of Germany.

At the last Bundestag election held in 2009, voter turnout until 2 p.m. was 36.1 percent; total voter turnout was 70.8 percent.

The Federal Returning Officer calls upon all registered voters who have not cast their vote yet to exercise their right to vote. The polling stations are still open until 6 p.m.
