Federal Electoral Committee to decide on appeals on 3 April 2014

WIESBADEN – At its second meeting in preparation of the European election, the Federal Electoral Committee will decide on a total of 10 appeals against the rejection of nominations.

The Federal Returning Officer reports that the meeting will be held in public in the German Bundestag building Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus in Berlin (entrance Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße 1), room 3.101 (Anhörungssaal) on Thursday, 3 April 2014, at 11 a.m.

All persons concerned attending the proceedings will be heard. Following the meeting, the Federal Returning Officer will announce the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee.

Important notes:

The meeting of the Federal Electoral Committee will be held in public. Visitors will have to pass security checks before entering the Bundestag buildings and have to show their identity cards.

Unless they are permanently accredited with the German Bundestag, media representatives will have to seek prior accreditation with the Press Division of the Bundestag: http://www.bundestag.de/presse/akkreditierung/index.html. The relevant application form can be downloaded there.

The meeting of the Federal Electoral Committee will be braodcast live on Parliamentary Television, on the internet at www.bundestag.de and transmitted to mobile devices (“Deutscher Bundestag” app or m.bundestag.de).
