Media statements and schedule of the Federal Returning Officer at the European election

WIESBADEN / BERLIN – The Federal Returning Officer will stay at the Reichstag building of the German Bundestag in Berlin together with his staff at the weekend of the European election. There he will determine and announce the election results.

There will be two media statements of the Federal Returning Officer in the West Lobby on Plenary Chamber level:

  • The Federal Returning Officer will announce the “intermediate result for the voter turnout on election day by 2 p.m.” around 3:30 p.m. on election day (25 May).
  • The official provisional result will presumably be known in the early morning hours of 26 May. As soon as it has been established, the result will be published by press release and announced by the Federal Returning Officer in the Reichstag building. Detailed results will then be available on the website of the Federal Returning Officer.

Please note: Media representatives who hold neither a permanent accreditation to the German Bundestag nor a legislative period ID of the German Government Press and Information Office will require general accreditation to the German Bundestag in order to report from inside the Reichstag building.
