2019 European Election: Federal Electoral Committee to decide on complaints on 4 April 2019

WIESBADEN – At its second meeting in preparation of the European election, the Federal Electoral Committee will decide on the appeals against the approval or rejection of the nominations of 7 political associations.

The Federal Returning Officer also reports that the meeting will be held in public in the German Bundestag building in Berlin, Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus (entrance Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße 1), room 3.101 (Anhörungssaal) on Thursday, 4 April 2019, at 11 a.m. All those concerned who attend the meeting will be heard. Following the meeting, the Federal Returning Officer will announce the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee.

Important notes:

All media representatives will require valid accreditation to enter the Bundestag buildings.

All other visitors will have to pass security checks before entering the Bundestag buildings and show their identity cards. It is advisable to register at besucher@bundeswahlleiter.de by Tuesday, 2 April 2019, 6 p.m., by providing your surname, first name and date of birth. The visitors' data will be checked against the Police Information System (INPOL) and used for admission control. After the end of the visit the data will be destroyed. Please bring your valid identity card.

Those who have not registered in advance but wish to attend the meeting of the Federal Electoral Committee may come directly to the entrance of Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus (Berlin, Adele-Schreiber-Krieger-Straße). These visitors should however be prepared to wait as the necessary security checks have to be carried out.

The meeting will be broadcast live on the internet at www.bundestag.de and on mobile devices. On the following day it will be available at www.bundestag.de/mediathek.
